2011 Scholarship recipients

The Macquarie Conservatorium of Music aims to reward excellence in musical performance through its annual scholarship program.

To be eligible for a scholarship, applicants must be enrolled students who have studied at Macquarie Conservatorium in the relevant instrument for a minimum of 12 months preceding the scholarship application closing date. Applicants must also display above average ability for their current level.

Scholarships are available in the following areas:

Piano
  • Elementary Piano up to and including 1st Grade or equivalent
  • Junior Piano 2nd – 4th Grade or equivalent
  • Senior Piano 5th Grade and above or equivalent

Woodwind

  • Elementary Woodwind up to and including 1st Grade or equivalent
  • Junior Woodwind 2nd - 4th Grade or equivalent
  • Senior Woodwind 5th Grade and above or equivalent

Brass / Percussion

  • Elementary Brass/Percussion up to and including 1st Grade or equivalent
  • Junior Brass/Percussion 2nd - 4th Grade or equivalent
  • Senior Brass/Percussion 5th Grade and above or equivalent

Strings / Guitar

  • Elementary Strings/Guitar up to and including 1st Grade or equivalent
  • Junior Strings/Guitar 2nd - 4th Grade or equivalent
  • Senior Strings/Guitar 5th Grade and above or equivalent

Voice

  • Voice (all Voice applicants)

Macquarie Conservatorium Outstanding Performer Scholarship

  • Where merit warrants it, the Outstanding Performer Scholarship will be awarded to the top ranking Senior Scholarship recipient

 

The 2011 Scholarship Auditions will be held on Saturday 10 September and the Presentation Night Concert will be held at 7pm Friday 16 September

 

bursaries

A limited number of bursaries in the area of financial hardship are available upon application. Bursaries are granted for a maximum period of 12 months with the bursary covering 75% of a half hour lesson per week. Should lesson times exceed half an hour, all additional expenses must be borne by the bursary holder.

Group theory lessons are only available to applicants who need to complete an appropriate grade that corresponds to a practical level attained in the same year.

Supporting material and a letter of recommendation from the teacher must be provided with all bursary applications.
